Sustainable Living and Research
Resident workshops are based at the Pelican Lagoon Research & Wildlife Centre on Kangaroo Island . Since 1982 this facility has been free standing, supplying all the electricity and water utilities necessary for a sustainable living and workspace required by field scientist and volunteers. The Pelican Lagoon Research & Wildlife Centre was showcased at the 21st Century program at the Hannover Germany World Expo 2000 as a working example of the principles of Agenda 21 and practical outcomes for humankind, nature and technology. Travel from Adelaide by bus and ferry to Pelican Lagoon (air travel from Adelaide with on island transfers can be arranged), food and use of field facilities are included in the costing
Earthwatch

Scheduled teams work with field biologist unraveling the life history and ecology of the Short -beaked Echidna and Rosenberg 's goanna through the islands unique biological windows. Click Here for information on the EW Echidna and Goannas on Kangaroo Island project to learn more about the program, costing and bookings (include photos)
Additional Workshop and Participant Programs throughout the year:
There are a number of weekday workshop and participant programs with the Kangaroo Island Penguin Study Group. Birdwatching and bird survey programs with resident biologist are available upon request.
